Product Summary

Stationed in Japan at the time of the North Korean Invasion, the 25th Division moved to South Korea on 5 July 1950. On 20 July 1950 members of the 25th Division conducted what was to be the first major combat operations of the war against North Korean Forces at Yechon.  The US and South Korean Forces within the Pusan Perimeter had brought the North Korean advance to a halt by Sept. 8th, 1950.

The Division broke out of the Pusan Perimeter and joined with 7th Infantry Division and 1st Marine Division forces that had conducted the Inchon landing. .

Through the rest of the war and after the Chinese intervention the Tropic Lightning Division earned innumerable credits at place such as the Han and Imjin Rivers, Ch’orwan, Kumhwa, Mundung-ni/Hwach'on Reservoir.  The division participated in all the campaigns of US and UN forces during their 37 months in Korea.
