102nd Infantry Division in WWII, Framed

The division was activated on the 15th of September, 1942 at Fort Macey, Texas. 

The division disembarked at Cherbourg, Sept 23 1944 entering the European Theater of Operations.

The division participated in the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns.  The division attacked at Linnich and Flossdorf and began 173 days of combat culminating at the Elbe River.

The division served under one commander during its combat tour, Major General Frank Keating.  They fought across the Roer and at Krefeld near the Rhine then fought across Central Germany through Hannover and Gardelegen.
