100th Infantry Division in WWII, Framed

The division was activated on 15th of November, 1943 at Columbia, SC. 

The division disembarked at Marseilles on 20 October, 1944, entering the European Theater of Operations.

The division participated in the Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace , and Central Europe Campaigns.  The division attacked and captured the fortress at Bitche, seized Fort Schiesseck, crossed the Vosges Mountains, withstood the assault of 3 German divisions in the last major counter offensive in Europe, and crossed the Neckar River at Heilbronn.

The division was inactivated in Fort Patrick Henry Virginia on 10 January, 1946.
